Carpal tunnel syndrome is painful and progressive and can interfere with the strength and sensations in the hand. It is said to affect between 4 to 10 million people, with women being three times more likely to suffer from it than men.
This condition causes symptoms that can range from a slight numbness felt from time to time to weakness of the hands or even loss of sensation and complete loss of use of the hand.
According to a study done in Germany, published in The Journal of Pain, showed that the technique was effective in temporarily relieving the pain caused by carpal tunnel syndrome. According to the researchers, a single session significantly reduced the pain and symptoms for a week.
